Rosamond Elementary

"Tell Me Another Scary Story, But Not Too Scary"  by Carl Reiner  (October Report)
We were excited to receive this new book by Carl Reiner, because we already had his first "scary story" in our collection. This book came with a CD that we decided to use. The author, Carl Reiner, is the storyteller. We carefully matched turning the pages at the scary time to help the children feel the anticipation of something spooky.

A young girl's grandfather tells a tale about his neighbor Mr. Neewollah, who makes a scary costume for him to wear on Halloween (when he was little). The tension is broken-up when the grandfather asks if he should turn the page or is it too scary? Of course you know what the children will answer.

We discussed sound effects and music. They can definatley make a scene more frightening.
It was a nice change from regular storytelling.
