We asked if anyone celebrated Chinese New Year (this is the week this celebration begins) and then talked about some of the ways the biggest Asian holiday is celebrated in many parts of the world. There is a China Town in California (and also in many other big cities) where this is a big celebration time. We mentioned that this is the year of the rat and talked about the characteristics of those born this year. This book talk ties in loosely with our school wide cultural diversity celebration this month.
